RemoteCamera ("the App") is developed and maintained by Mahesh Manni. The App turns your phone into a remote camera that you can view live from a web browser. This privacy policy explains what information the App accesses, where it goes, and your rights as a user.
The App accesses the following on your device solely to provide its core functionality:
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, or phone number.
Video and audio captured by the App are streamed directly, in real time, to a relay
server operated by the developer (camera.vgl360.com) and then to the
web browser you use to view the stream. This is the same relay for every install —
there is no third-party analytics, advertising, or data-broker service involved, and
no video or audio is retained on the server after the stream ends.
On first launch, the App registers a unique camera identity (an ID and a secret credential) with the relay server so that only your own viewer session can connect to your camera. This identity, along with your chosen viewer PIN, is stored securely on your device (Android: EncryptedSharedPreferences) and is not shared with anyone else. Uninstalling the App permanently discards this identity — a fresh one is registered on reinstall.
We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your camera or microphone data with third parties. The App does not include any advertising SDKs or third-party analytics libraries.
Streams are live-only and are not recorded or stored server-side. Your camera identity and viewer PIN are stored locally on your device only and are discarded when the App is uninstalled.
The App requests the following Android permissions:
These permissions are used solely for the App's core functionality and not for tracking or profiling purposes.
You can mute the microphone, stop streaming, or uninstall the App at any time, which immediately ends any active stream and (on uninstall) discards the camera's identity.
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Streams are authenticated with a per-camera secret and connect over a secure WebSocket connection, so only your own viewer session can access your camera.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
